Plus there are tons of Santa Cruz residents and students who are looking for housing and, chances are, those who are not in college and are working will get picked over UCSC/Cabrillo students. It's a matter of maximum occupancy for safety sake, I think. You may be able to find a 1 bedroom for $1800 and the landlord will MAYBE let you fit 2 people, but 3 is really pushing it. Yeah you'll be hard pressed to find a place that fits your criteria.
